Jim Garner’s career began in 1993 as a commercial photographer, where his skill for combining technical expertise with an elegant, modern aesthetic quickly drew attention and clients. His fascination with photographic storytelling soon led him down a different road, however, to become one of today’s most sought-after wedding photographers.
An expert in his field, Jim is not only a popular educator and public speaker, but has also been published in numerous photography industry publications including Rangefinder, PPA and American Photo Magazine, as well as lifestyle and fashion publications like Marie Claire China.
Katarina Garner, Owner & Business Manager
Prior to joining J. Garner Photography in 1999, Katarina Garner spent several years in retail marketing, event planning and lease management for some of the largest shopping centers in the United States. Years of working with commercial clients on complex issues have revealed Katarina’s natural ability to connect with people, build lasting relationships and look beyond the obvious to identify just the right solution for the project at hand.
At J. Garner Photography, Katarina uses her talents to provide each and every couple with a tailored, personal experience that suits their distinctive personalities and priorities.
Claire Parkin, Production and Design Manager
Creativity is in Claire Parkin’s blood. Originally from Los Angeles, Claire was born into a highly creative family and proceeded to embrace her own talent by studying studio art and art history at the University of Washington. At J. Garner Photography, Claire puts her education and innate artistic sensibility to work in the studio as she edits and produces Jim’s highly acclaimed art books and exquisite fine art prints, showcasing the most unique and intimate moments of each wedding story.
Marla Ni, Client Care Specialist
With a degree in Sociology from the University of Washington and experience in wedding planning, Marla Ni knows a lot about human interaction and the important decisions that brides and grooms have to make. As the Client Care Specialist for J. Garner Photography, Marla makes everyone’s life easier by working with each couple to arrange meetings, organize the various stages of photo-taking and review, and share important information along the way.
